SSF participated as an exhibitor in ASEAN-JAPAN Sports Showcase 2023

In light of the 50th commemorative year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, Japan Sports Agency and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand co-hosted the ASEAN-JAPAN Sports Showcase 2023 on 31st August and 1st September 2023.

Sasakawa Sports Foundation (SSF) was a participating exhibitor in the ASEAN-JAPAN Sports Showcase 2023 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The White Paper on Sport in Japan and Sports-Life Data were introduced at the booth. In parallel, The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA)’s commitment and contribution in the ASEAN region were also highlighted. The posters were well designed with voluntary support from the TAFISA office.

Max TAMAZAWA, SSF Managing Director and TAFISA Board of Director, said, “On behalf of TAFISA and SSF, I would like to take this opportunity to work closely with ASEAN countries to promote Sport for All in the region. Further, as a member of the TAFISA Board of Directors representing Asia, I would like to share the good practices from ASEAN countries with the world.”

Dr. Niwat Limsuknirun, Director General, Department of Physical Education, Ministry of Tourism and Sport, Thailand also mentioned that “The government of Thailand has been fully promoting Sport for All for a long time. Let’s combine our wisdom and power. Our solidarity is the next key step towards unlocking the opportunities between the ASEAN region and the global sports community.”

The Showcase and related meetings of the Fourth ASEAN Plus Japan Ministerial Meeting on Sports (4th AMMS+Japan) were completed successfully with the adoption of the “Chiang Mai Declaration” on strengthening ASEAN-JAPAN cooperation on sports towards 2030.
