Participation in TAFISA Mission 2030 Workshop

1. About the Workshop

The workshop was organized by TAFISA under the TAFISA Mission 2030, a scheme aimed at creating a better world by unfolding the potential of Sport for All and physical activity globally, and maximizing its contribution to overcoming critical challenges that the world is facing. The strategies for enhanced engagement in sports volunteering were shared through the workshop.

2. Welcome Address by Max Tamazawa

He mentioned two keywords regarding sports volunteering: 'enjoyment' and 'respect' in his welcome address. He highlighted that people could derive enjoyment from sports not only by participating but also by watching sports or supporting sporting events as volunteers. He also emphasized the importance of fostering mutual understanding between athletes and volunteers, as well as showing respect for volunteers.

3. Presentations and Q & A

Followed by the welcome address, practical and insightful presentations on the current situations and challenges surrounding sports volunteering were given by expert speakers from various parts of the world. The presentation topics covered the universal appeal of sports, incentive and certification programs for volunteers, ideas for retaining a sufficient number of volunteers, expanding volunteers' skills, utilizing an online platform to share volunteering-related information, etc.
