SSF Journey with MAX

Masanori TAMAZAWA

Masanori TAMAZAWA
Managing Director
Sasakawa Sports Foundation, Tokyo, Japan

Max completed TAFISA’s International Certified Leadership Course (CLC) curriculum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2010. He was the first Japanese person to complete the CLC.

In 2011, Max was one of the core editors of TAFISA Active World 2011: The Global Almanac on Sport for All, which was cooperatively researched and published by TAFISA and SSF. This publication was well received by all TAFISA family members as a comprehensive survey of the status of TAFISA member organizations at that time.

In 2012, Max showed outstanding leadership in organizing the TAFISA-SSF World Forum, which was held after the TAFISA Board Meeting in Tokyo. He coordinated with not only domestic sport organizations but also overseas Sport for All organizations to lead the event to success.

Max also played a central role in facilitating communication and coordination between the organizing committee and other related organizations for 26th TAFISA World Congress in Tokyo, 2019, which was a memorable joint event with the Smart Cities & Sport Summit-the first such event in TAFISA history. The congress received an award at the Japan National Tourism Organization’s Best International Convention Awards 2020.
