Enriching lives through the power of sports.
Sports has the power to help us …
learn and grow
challenge ourselves
transcend our limits
bond together
and change lives.

Sports research and engagement to improve lives.

Sports can help us build communities and change lives. It provides us with a common language that connects us across the divide of gender, generations, ethnicities, economics, and ability levels. With sports, we can harness the power of working toward a shared goal to tackle health and societal issues that affect all ages.

The Sasakawa Sports Foundation (SSF) is Japan’s only sports-oriented think tank. We are led by a dedicated group of data scientists, researchers, and sports enthusiasts who are committed to improving health and increasing longevity. They represent a broad range of expertise spanning sports policy, governance, economics, disability sports, and public policy.

Our leaders are driven by SSF’s mission to advance social innovation and create a diverse and inclusive society through sports.
